Fans are reacting to Aaron Carter having been arrested on DUI and drug-related charges on Saturday night. The 29-year-old singer was charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. See fan reactions to Carter’s arrest.
As Gossip Cop reported, Carter has battled substance abuse in the past. In 2011, the former “Dancing With The Stars” contestant entered a facility “to heal some emotional and spiritual issues,” according to a statement released then by his manager. The manager added, “He has chosen to enter a facility where he feels he will get the guidance and cleansing he needs that will help him on the music journey he’s about to take.”
And in 2014, Carter appeared on “Entertainment Tonight,” where he owned up about his history of drug addiction. In the interview, he revealed that his drug problems started with his 2009 stint on “Dancing With The Stars.” Speaking candidly, Carter admitted, “When I was doing ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ I developed an addiction to Xanax because of stage fright.”
In response to his DUI and possession on drug paraphernalia arrest, one Twitter user wrote, “I feel so bad for Aaron Carter.” Another said, “I text my mom good morning & she responds with ‘good morning’ & a photo of Aaron Carter getting arrested. In what world is that a good morning.” And one supportive fan tweeted, “It’s not your best day. Avoid mean people and know another one better will come on. Stay strong.”
Meanwhile, another Twitter user shared, “So bummed out about my man @aaroncarter you’re better than that bro.” A user named @ZachSheldon tweeted, “Aaron Carter arrested for DUI. Smh.” And someone with the handle @BeccaGenovese offered, “Woke up to you trending and not for the good.
