Sarah Paulson Scared On 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' – WATCH VIDEO

Ellen DeGeneres successfully scared Sarah Paulson on Tuesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” And we’re not talking once or even twice. The host actually pulled off three separate scares.

Paulson was on the talk show to promote “American Horror Story: Cult.” As viewers of the FX anthology series can attest, season after season the program scares the bejesus out of people. Now DeGeneres turned the tables and it was Paulson’s turn to be frightened. “I thought, she’s in scary movies and scary TV shows all the time, she must love to be scared,” the host explained. Paulson shook her head no, as the audience saw footage of what went down before the taping: DeGeneres was hiding in the closet of her dressing room.

The actress is seen walking into the bathroom when, all of a sudden, DeGeneres pops out of the closet chanting weird sounds. Paulson let out a yelp, and then hid her face as she cried from what we hope was laughter. The comedienne responded by giving her target a comforting hug. “The best part about it was how creepy your [sound was],” Paulson told DeGeneres afterward, cracking, “I wasn’t sure if I needed to call 911. I wasn’t sure if you were having a stroke.”

As the pair continued to talk on stage about what happened, Paulson was unaware there was a man dressed as a witch creeping up behind her. When he finally touched her back, she let out another scream. The star then playfully punched DeGeneres, and asked her, “What are you going to do now?” She even guessed that a staffer was also hiding inside the table next to her. “Is somebody going to come out of here?” she demanded. And just after DeGeneres said no, out popped a man in a clown costume.

Paulson collapsed onto the floor, and amid much laughter, mumbled, “I hate you” to the host. She then hilariously crawled underneath the table, worrying that more was in store. Prior to the frights, Paulson actually spoke with DeGeneres about her real-life phobias. Check out the video above and a bonus one below.
