Burglar Shot Six Times After Allegedly Undressing In Girl's Bedroom

A Kentucky man was shot six times after he allegedly broke into a home and began undressing in the bedroom of a 12-year-old girl. Police say that 38-year-old Donald Oliver entered the house through a window just after 7 a.m. and walked into the girl's room while she was still in bed.

The girl hid under the covers and sent a text message to her mother that an intruder was in her bedroom. She watched as Oliver, who lives next door to the family, began to take off his clothes. She was able to run out of her room while he had his back to the door.

"She was really smart," the girl's mother, Tina Burton, told WDRB. "She hid under the cover, turned her light down, turned her volume down on her phone to text me. When she peeked under the cover to see where he was at, she got up and ran away. She went to the back room. And I think that was really brave and smart of her."

After removing all of his clothes except his underwear, Oliver made his way to the kitchen where he was confronted by Tina's boyfriend, Ali Bracey.

"I told him to get out, and he didn’t want to move. And he growled at me," Bracey told the news station.

He grabbed a broom and began to hit Oliver with it. The two began to fight, but Bracey was overpowered by the larger man and Burton ran to grab a gun. She handed it to Bracey, and he opened fire shooting Oliver six times.

Oliver was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries before being taken to jail. He was charged with burglary, assault, and possession of a controlled substance. He has a lengthy criminal history, and a judge set his bail at $50,000.
