Chris Martin's Girlfriend Directs Coldplay's 'Cry Cry Cry' Music Video

On Friday (February 14), Coldplay released its music video for “Cry Cry Cry” from its latest album Everyday Life.

The love song has an added cute bonus as lead singer Chris Martin's girlfriend, actress Dakota Johnson, made her directorial debut by co-directing the music video.

The sweet video takes place in a dance hall where Coldplay acts as the house band for the couples — whose incredible dance moves take center stage in the video.

As the video progresses, the main young couple transforms into an elderly couple who remain as the only pair on the dance floor. The couple dances as Martin sings “When you cry, cry, cry/ baby I'll be by your side” proving love can, indeed, last a lifetime.

Coldplay released its eighth full-length LP, Everyday Life, last November and has since released a handful of videos from the album including live videos from the country of Jordan.

While Coldplay has released an album, the band will be going on a touring hiatus until the band can figure out a way to make touring more sustainable. “We're not touring this album,” Martin revealed to BBC Radio. "We're taking time over the next year or two, to work out how our tour can not only be sustainable [but] how can it be actively beneficial.”

Thankfully, though, Coldplay has stopped by a few talk shows to play new songs live including The Ellen Show — where Martin also told an embarrassing story about actress Emily Blunt ignoring his texts.
