Lovelytheband have been hard at work on their sophomore album Conversations With Myself About You, but apparently that's not the only project they've had up their sleeves. On Tuesday (August 11), the band revealed they helped create Selena Gomez and David Henrie's new movie This Is The Year, and they'll be performing during the film's virtual premiere on August 28.
"we are proud and excited to announce that we’ve made a movie with @davidhenrie and @selenagomez," they announced on Instagram. "This Is The Year' will be premiering Aug 28th (the same day as our new album) via a one of a kind livestream event hosted by David and Selena with a Q&A from @charlidamelio and @dixiedamelio"
"In a last ditch effort to win over the girl of his dreams, a nerdy high school senior (Lorenzo Henrie) and his best friends embark on a road trip to see their favorite band [lovelytheband] at the biggest music festival of the year," a plot description reads. "On their journey, they realize that elaborate plans never go off without a hitch, and that you can find true love in the most unexpected places."
Tickets to the livestream cost $11.99, with proceeds going to the Plus1 Covid-19 Relief Fund. Fans can use the code “lovelytheband” for $2 off.
