Sarah Michelle Gellar and Fred Prinze Jr. have been married for almost 23 years.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star recently revealed the secret to her lasting marriage and attributed their lack of complications to one thing: separate bathrooms.
"It’s that simple," she told Jenna Bush Hager and Tiffany Haddish during the April 23 episode of TODAY.
"See, I was thinking it was like the [‘I Love Lucy’] thing where [Lucy and Ricky had] twin beds, and then when y’all want to get together, you push them together, and when you want to be apart, you push them apart," Haddish quipped, to which Gellar replied, "I had not thought of that. That is actually a really good idea."
According to Page Six, Gellar and Prinze met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997 and were friends for a few years before going on their first date in 2000. The pair got engaged in 2001 and married in 2002. They share children, Charlotte, born in 2009, and Rocky, born in 2012.
In a 2022 interview, the She's All That actor unveiled he knew Gellar was the one after their first date.
"I didn’t go on dates with other girls, nor did I even want to pursue dates with other girls."
