Google Trends analyzed data and search interest in the U.S. comparing September 2025 to September 2024 to calculate the top trending costumes for Halloween this year for its annual "Freitgeist" list, and the top choices may surprise you.
The 2025 Netflix sensation KPop Demon Hunters was an overwhelming favorite for inspiration, with several characters ranking in the top 10 costumes overall. Other popular choices include the viral Labubu plush toy, characters from Wicked, superheroes like Superman and classics like a ladybug.

Google Trends also compiled a list of the top trending Halloween makeup and decor as well as the most popular costumes for kids (Rumi from KPop Demon Hunters), couples/duos (Astrid and Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon) and dogs (Labubu).
